“I could not have imagined having better photographers to shoot my Ojai-Indian fusion wedding. From the moment they arrived on site, they were incredibly sweet, accommodating to cultural specifications, and captured such beautiful moments without met knowing. This was their first Indian wedding they shot, and they were able to get in and capture all of the right moments, details and interactions during the ceremony. For us getting great photos was one of the most important parts of the day, but choosing a photographer was easy because the minute we saw their work we knew we had found our wedding photographer! We hired Matt + Jess for both our engagement and wedding photos. Matt + Jess had moved from CO to CA between us booking them and the wedding, so we only actually worked with Jess. She shot our engagement photos alone and with our agreement brought another photographer as a second shooter (also extremely talented and fantastic) for the wedding. We can say Jess is the sweetest, most thoughtful, and fun person, not to mention an amazing photographer. For our engagement shoot she was down to hike up a mountain with us and had great ideas for where to shoot. At the wedding she was already familiar with the venue and put us at ease.
She is so skillful in using natural light and in capturing a moody and romantic feel. We really loved the detailed shots and shots of guests she got at our wedding and how she captured the emotion and intimate and whimsical feel of our farm wedding. Of all the great things we can say about Jess as a photographer, our favorite thing is this... She is so good at making you feel comfortable and giving you positive reinforcement in a way that feels so genuine that she makes you feel like a freaking supermodel. At the end of both our engagement shoot and wedding photos I was totally convinced that we were the hottest couple on earth, which is exactly how you should feel at those moments! After the wedding she sent us a sneak peak of photos and let us know to expect the rest in 6-8 weeks, but then delivered the entire package of beautiful, perfect photos in 5 weeks. I know many friends who waited well over two months for their wedding photos, so this was seriously impressive. We would absolutely love to take photos with Matt + Jess again in the future and really can’t even imagine using another photographer. We highly highly recommend them!”

"Matt + Jess were the wedding photographers of our DREAMS! Let’s start with our engagement shoot. I really wanted a snowy mountain shoot, and even though we didn’t find much snow, Jess found a stunning location and happily trampled around in the freezing cold to get so many gorgeous shots. She knew exactly what to say to make us genuinely laugh and smile for the photos (a huge plus!), and she also knew exactly how to capture those deliciously moody shots (IMHO, her speciality!). She quickly turned around the edited pics and we couldn’t have been more excited! Her aesthetic is exactly what we wanted and she does it oh so well.
Then as wedding day approached, Jess calmly answered all my frenzied questions about timelines, the shot list, and so on. Day of, they were absolutely fantastic. They split up and Matt captured some really great shots of the guys doing their thing and Jess just fit in like one of the gals and got so many great getting ready pics, which are some of my favorite pics from the whole day!

"I really can’t say enough positive things about Jess. From our initial phone call I just knew that she was going to be the right fit for our wedding. My (now) husband and I were in a crunch, looking for a photographer in the LA area for our rescheduled intimate COVID micro wedding. Jess got on the phone with me 6 days after giving birth to her beautiful daughter and was all in on our plan from the start. She worked with us and our schedule and totally understood our vibe. I was worried about the mid-day sun for our 2pm wedding but she put all of my worries at ease and showed me gorgeous weddings she had shot mid day.

"They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But what they don't say is a GOOD picture can be worth a thousand emotions.
As a photographer myself, it was tough to zero in on high quality photographers. If you've been doing photography for a while, you learn to nitpick certain details about composure, lighting, focus, and the story of each shot. Because of this, I had a super hard time finding the style and quality of photographers that I liked, because I felt a lot of them just were "taking pictures" and not telling stories that provoked emotion while still maintaining that high quality.
Then came Matt + Jess. After reviewing their portfolio, I was blown away with their style, their composition and their ability to really portray emotions through their pictures. Their stuff rocks.
After hiring them, we found out that not only are they good at taking pictures, they're extremely professional, reliable, and competitive on pricing - oh AND they do amazing videography as well. They were fast to answer emails, they walked us through a day-of timeline for the different shots they'd need, and they made us felt incredibly reassured they had everything prepped and ready to go.
On the day of, they were a dream. They arrived to the venue early, and were ready to rock for the full day we had them. They work so well together, they were able to stage us, talk us through each pose, work with the outdoor lighting (which can be real finicky) and still were talking and joking with us the whole time.
When it was all said and done, they delivered the final product SO FAST. Most wedding photography takes like 6-8 weeks to process, but we received our finalized album in three. Every shot that we received was perfectly edited, incredibly high quality, and is something that my bride and I will treasure for the rest of our lives.
